Terms of Service

Early-access notice
This is a working draft while Saam is in early access. A complete, legally reviewed version will be published before paid features launch.
The deal, in plain English
You can use Saam to organise your family. Don't use it for anything illegal, abusive, or harmful. We'll do our best to keep it running well, but stuff happens. Be kind to each other. That's the spirit of it.
Accounts
- You need to be 13 or older to create an account.
- Family members under 13 can be added by a parent or guardian.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person per account — don't share logins.
Acceptable use
Don't use Saam to:
- Harass, threaten, or abuse anyone
- Share illegal content
- Try to break into other families' data
- Reverse-engineer or scrape the service
- Spam other users with invites
We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that violate these rules.
Your content
You own what you create in Saam. By using the service, you grant us a limited licence to store and display it to your family members — that's necessary to provide the service. We don't use your content for anything else.
Paid plans
Premium is billed in advance (monthly or annually). You can cancel from your account settings at any time; you'll keep premium until the end of your billing period. We don't give refunds for partial periods unless required by law, but we're reasonable — email us if there's a problem.
No warranty (the legal bit)
Saam is provided as-is. We don't guarantee it'll always be available or error-free. We're not liable for indirect damages (lost data, missed appointments, etc). Back up anything critical. Use your judgement.
Changes to these terms
We'll email you before making material changes. Small clarifications get a quiet update with a new "Last updated" date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Disputes will be handled by South African courts.
