Is Saam really free?+
Yes. The free plan stays free, forever. You only pay if you upgrade to Premium for things like unlimited members, recurring events, or assigning tasks to family members.
What happens if my family grows past 4 members?+
You'll get a friendly notice and an option to upgrade to Premium. Your existing data stays exactly where it is. We never lock you out of what you've already created.
What's live now, and what's coming?+
Live today: unlimited members, recurring events, meal planning (with ingredients you can send straight to a shopping list), budgeting, and assigning tasks and list items to specific people. On the roadmap (marked "Soon"): location sharing, calendar sync, and push notifications. Premium families get each one automatically as it ships, at no extra cost — so upgrading early means you're set as the app grows.
Can I manage our family budget in Saam?+
Yes — budgeting is part of Premium. Log income and expenses, mark each one once-off or recurring (weekly, monthly, or yearly), and see a clear monthly view of what's coming in, what's going out, and what's left. It's all entered by hand — Saam never connects to your bank account.
Can I cancel Premium anytime?+
Yes. Cancel from your billing settings at any time. You'll keep Premium until the end of your billing period, then your family rolls back to the Free plan with all your data intact.
Will my data be deleted if I downgrade?+
No. Your events, tasks, and lists all stay, and you keep access to them. The only change is that Premium-only features stop accepting new input — for example, you can't add more than 4 members or create new recurring events — but nothing you've created is removed, and your existing recurring events keep going.
Do you offer family discounts?+
Saam Premium is already priced to be affordable for a whole family — less than a takeaway coffee a month on the annual plan. If your situation is genuinely tight, reach out at hello@getsaam.com and I'll see what I can do.
Where can I pay from?+
Anywhere. Payments run through Paystack, and Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all work — including internationally issued cards. Billing is in South African Rand; if your card is in another currency, your bank converts at its usual rate.
